Welcome
The Alton Fire Department is made up of 16 members that are on paid on call 24hrs a day. The Department covers the towns of Alton and the unorganized township of Argyle and 9 miles of Interstate 95 between MM 199 and 208. We also provide mutual aid to the towns of Old Town, Milford, Lagrange, Hudson, Bradford, and Howland.
The department has 3 engines.
- Alton 601 Our lead engine a 2003 EOne carries 2500gal of water 10 gal of foam and has a 1250gpm Waterous pump and 6 Scott 4.5 airpacks.
- Alton 602 Our Tanker a 2010 Rosenbauer carries 3000gal of water 10 gal of foam and has a 750gpm Hale pump and 4 Scott 4.5 airpacks.
- Alton 606 Brush truck 2017 Ram 5500 carries 500gal of water and 10gal of foam with a 300gpm pump and 2 Scott 4.5 airpacks.
All of Altons EMS is handled by the firefighters and EMS staff at the Old Town Fire Department.
The Department's training nights are the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 7pm at the station. We are always looking for new staff. Feel free to stop by and say hi.
Services Provided
The Alton Fire & Rescue provides many services to the citizens and visitors to the town of Alton and Argyle. Our members are certified in Firefighter I/II certification or basic firefighting. The fire department provides services in the following areas.
